Think of Divorce as a legal minefield, one wrong step and then everything can go wrong. At Georgia Family Law, P.C., we work with you to understand your needs and help you through the minefield to help you protect your rights and the rights of your family.
Whether your divorce is uncontested or contested, with or without children, Georgia Family Law, P.C. treats all Clients like they are going to trial. This ensures that all options are analyzed to guard against potential complications in areas like property division, child support, child custody, judgment enforcement, and modification of final decrees.
Jury Trial
A little-used right of divorce law in Georgia allows for a jury of 12 to help decide many aspects of the divorce case like Alimony and Equitable Distribution but not Child Custody, which must be determined by a Judge. Georgia and Texas are the only two states who allow couples to choose a Jury Trial for Divorce.
A Jury Trial in a Divorce can be a very useful tool depending on the facts of your case. At Georgia Family Law, P.C., we work with you to understand whether a jury trial is the right option for you to help you protect your rights and the rights of your family.
Property Division
Property Division can become one of the most contentious issues when ending a marriage. Georgia Family Law, P.C. understands that during the divorce process neither party may be completely satisfied with the end result, so we ensure that our clients receive all that they are entitled to.
Georgia is an equitable division state. Equitable does not always mean that Property Division will be 50/50. Just like Alimony, Property Division is determined by a Judge and Jury which means that Georgia Family Law, P.C. will ensure that our client’s rights are protected.
